Storyboarding
A visual representation of the film sequence,
breaking down the action into individual panels
Character Design
The process of visually developing characters for animation; focusing on nailing down the appearance, visual style, and personality
Animatic
An animated version of the storyboard, including sound, to get a feel for how the sequence will flow in motion
Final Animation
The final product: a fully rendered, animated video with final character designs and effects
Case Study
Check For Cat is a non-profit raising awareness for accidental cat injuries in dryers. For this project, I started with a script from the client and developed everything all the way to the final animation.
Storyboard
The storyboard helps capture the flow of the video, as well as figure out what backgrounds, characters, and props will need to be designed.
Character Design
We needed a total of three characters for the video: a cat, of course, a veterinarian, and the cat’s owner. Each character went through several iterations to reach the final design.
